Many interdisciplinary cooperations are active in this research area and several networking events are scheduled to foster scientific exchange and to support the formation of interdisciplinary focal points within the domain. Among the seventeen research projects in Computational Medicine and Healthcare there are two twinning projects on plaque growth and migration of sporozoites and two interdisciplinary projects on sepsis detection and ophthalmology:

Collective migration of sporozoites (Böhm/Frischknecht/Schwarz)

Development of Mathematical Modeling to analyze the interaction of cytokines and the pathomorphology of the Macula with Retinal Diseases (Friedmann/Rannacher/Koss/Auffarth)

Formation and growth of plaques in blood vessels (Richter/Meairs)

Mathematical modeling, simulation, and data analysis for advancing early clinical detection of sepsis in critically ill patients (Thiel/Bock/Kischning/Schneider-Lindner/Lindner/Weiß/Jäger/Kostina/Marciniak-Czochra/Neuss-Radu/Riezler/Gertz)
