Scientific Computing for Advanced Materials

Coordinator of the Research Area:
Prof. Dr. Andreas Dreuw

In the field of Advanced Functional Materials several projects and initiatives are already running successfully within and around Ruprecht-Karls University, most notably the recently founded Center of Advanced Materials (CAM). The great expertise of the IWR in modeling, simulation and optimization of complex processes contributed to the successful application for the “Center of Advanced Materials” (CAM), which is intended to focus on fundamental research thereby complementing the BMBF funded Top Cluster Forum Organic Electronics “InnovationLab“, which is a combined platform for research and knowledge transfer in science and business in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region.

Moreover, several smaller third-party funded projects already exist in the field of Computational Material Science of which one representative example is given below:

Optimum Experimental Design for the Identification of Gaussian Disorder Mobility Parameters in Charge Transport Models of Organic Semiconductors (Körkel, Badinski, Weiler)
